Wrinkle fabrics are the cloths that are finished to produce various wrinkles.Different finishing techniques are adopted to produce various and irregular wrinkles. Generally, distribution of the wrinkles are uniform and even. The fabrics give an appearance that is something like a forest views on a mountain in the distance. Such wrinkles are different from those on the crepe or those on some of the figured cloth or those on the seersuckers. The wrinkles are similar in style but look different from one another.
There are two techniques for producing the wrinkles:
1. Mechanical heating and pressing to produce the wrinkles, e.g. to produce wrinkles manually, rope-shaped wrinkling, wrinkling by means of filling techniques, etc.
2. Wrinkling by rubbing, e.g. to produce wrinkles by stream dyeing and tumbler drying
Development trend of wrinkle fabrics: wrinkling combined with water repellent, fire retardant, glossy and coating.
