T/C plain cloths are the plain fabrics woven with yarns of blended with polyester short fibers and cotton fibers. Commercially, the cloths are known as “Dacron”.
T/C plain cloths are marked with well-finished surface, soft & smooth hand feel, high durability and excellent ironing performance.They are also easily washed and quickly dried up. Normally, the blended materials consist of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. If the polyester content is less than 60%, the cloths are briefly known as CVC plain cloths. With such cloths, the hygroscopicity and permeability of these cloths improve a bit.
Normally, the yarns for T/C plain cloths are in the size of 45s and the density of weft side is lightly lower than warp-side.
Disadvantages: T/C blended yarns are low in hygroscopicity. This causes significant electrostatic effect, and may have hairy surface and the problem of nubby yarns.
T/C plain fabrics can be bleached, dyed or printed and the finished cloths will be used to shirts and other dresses. The CVC items plain cloths can be used s fabrics for summer outerwear coats and sleeping wears.
