Sateen is a fabric in the weave of satin on the weft side. As it is similar with the style of silk, it is also called filling sateen, which is a high-rank product among cotton fabrics.
Sateen is marked with smooth, well-finished and glossy surface, and offers a soft hand.
Mostly, sateen is woven with combed cotton yarns. The yarns on the warp and weft sides are the same in size. Normally, the yarns are in J40 with the density on the weft side higher than that on the warp side.
