Crepe is woven with the normal yarns on the warp side and highly twisted yarns on the weft side. Cloths so woven, after being dyed and finished, then highly twisted yarn on the weft side will shrink, and lead to the wrinkle effect. Crepe is light in weight,lasting in wrinkle, rich in resilience and comfortable in wear.
Cotton yarns or T/C yarns are adopted for the warp and weft sides with the warp-side yarn finer than that of the weft side. Normally, the fabrics are in plain weave with a small number of them being figured cloth.
