Slubbed fabrics are woven with slub yarns (threads), and display on the surface with irregular slubs. In style, the fabrics are similar to linen fabrics.
In the arrangement of yarns in the two ways, the fabrics can be woven with slub yarns either on both warp and weft sides, or with slub yarn on one side and regular yarn on the other. The slub yarn can be expressed in the size, length and distance. Normally, the size of a slub yarn is 1.5~3 times as much as the raw yarn, and the length is 5~12cm, and slub distance is 0.5~1m. The three parameters can be determined on the basis of the structure, application and style of the fabrics. Among the parameters, the slub distance is the key in determining how many slubs on the surface.
