Double weft fabrics are the plain cloths woven with single end on the warp side and double ends on the weft. In such kind of weave, the double ends on the weft side display an outstanding profile on the surface in the landscape orientation. Such cloths generally offer solid, coarse and thick hand and are in natural style.
Normally, the warp-side yarns range from 10s to 14s; and on the weft side from 8s to 10s. The yarns for the warp and weft are so arranged that the warp-side yarn is finer than that on the weft side so that an outstanding profile is displayed horizontally.
